The Old Chapel Textile Centre in Newbury, home of the National Needlework Archive, offer courses, workshops and exhibitions in sewing, haberdashery, needlecraft, textiles, embroidery, cross stitch, quilting and textile art. Our shop carries an extensive range of all needlework and sewing products including fabric, threads, wool, zips and patterns. We have an archive of historic textiles and patterns and are home to The Country Wife mural.
The NNA keeps a collection of textiles and textile related articles of all ages. As well as sewing and knitting machines, we keep items such as examples of costume, household linens, textile art, haberdashery, weaving and laundry equipment. We also keep teaching samples, organisational textiles.
We are always extremely pleased to consider taking in textiles and any related articles to our collection and library. Please contact us if you have anything you may wish to donate, however small.
