SCULPTED TEXTILES

Textile Artist and Author Isobel Hall will help you master her contemporary techniques with formed and structured textile vessels. “This workshop will focus on creating a cast using bought vessels such as terracotta plant pots ,or carving your mould from orange skins or melons or mould of your choice.  The casts made on the workshop will be made using fabrics such as scrim, batting or stretchable fabric .  The casts will be suitable to stitch into and will be unique.  You can weave round your cast or quilt your cast or use appliqué to decorate it.

Time will be an issue and it is envisaged that the day will be spent in forming casts .  Information about stitching into the casts will be given and some students may wish to start stitching .  Please note that this workshop is suitable for all levels and that completion of an object will not be possible in one day. Intensive Embroidery will be finished at home.”
