National Needlework Archive

The Old Chapel Textile Centre in Newbury, home of the National Needlework Archive, offer courses, workshops and exhibitions in sewing, haberdashery,  needlecraft, textiles, embroidery, cross stitch, quilting and textile art. Our shop carries an extensive range of all needlework and sewing products including fabric, threads, wool, zips and patterns. We have an archive of historic textiles and patterns and are home to The Country Wife mural.

Until 1st September 2020 the Centre shop only will be open on Saturday mornings 10am to 2pm.

 

From 1st September 2020 the Old Chapel will be open to the public every Tuesday 10am to 4pm and every Saturday morning 10am to 2pm.   

 

The Exhibition gallery, Country Wife room, the Shop, and Café will be open on these days until 28th November 2020  (always dependent on current government guidelines).

The libraries remain closed until Spring 2021.

 

Visits to the shop, café or exhibition do NOT need to be pre-booked but we will be maintaining social distancing and numbers will be limited in the building at any one time.

but Visits to the Country Wife room must be PRE-BOOKED.

Please note that the site gate on Main Street is not open on Saturdays and the Business Park should be accessed via Albury Way at the next roundabout on Saturdays.

 

The Centre will close for the winter at 2pm on Saturday 28th November 2020.
