Acorns and Blackberries
Stumpwork workshop with Hazel Parnham-Ware    £30
Reminiscent of 16th C work you will make a little gem of a roundel featuring raised acorns and beaded blackberries. All abilities.

Dyeing workshop

Working with unusual fabrics such as bubble wrap, baby wipes and weed suppressant.

Isobel’s workshops are always popular and this one is geared to all her new designs and techniques in her latest book. All abilities

Monet’s Garden – Layering with creative machine embroidery
Workshop with Wendy Dolan    £45
A great day in store learning how to get the best out of your machine for free embroidery and lovely use of colour.  All abilities

Tissue textured surfaces.

Cherry Blossom – Japanese silk Embroidery Introduction day
with Barbara Wright.  £30
You will learn the basic techniques for beautiful hand stitched silk work featuring cherry blossom flowers. 
Not suitable for absolute beginners to sewing.

Temari Balls  
Workshop with Jackie Barnes
Temari Balls are great fun! Balls covered in intricate threads giving beautiful patterns and effects which can be used as decorations, embellishments, jewellery and much more. They look complicated but come and see how easy they are. Surface embroidery in the round.  

Thursday 19th April 10am – 1pm
Dorset Buttons and Embellished Buttons.
Workshop with Sue Smith  £15
Enjoy a morning learning an old traditional skill plus update it with some bright contemporary stitched buttons. All abilities

Wednesday 25th April 10am – 4pm    £25
Bright and Breezy strip table quilt. Easy technique, great fun. Workshop with Brenda Sharp
Small table quilt in a day with a new strip technique. All abilities.

Layered Shadow work Flower picture 
Workshop with Linda Connell
Using layers of translucent fabrics we will make a small picture of raised flowers embellished with hand embroidery and beads.

Thursday 28th June and Thursday 12th July 10.30am – 3.30pm   2 day course £50
Take a landscape photo – Create a Textile piece.  Workshop with Hilary Jenkins
Want to learn how to design and stitch your own textile landscapes for pictures, quilts or wall-hangings? This is the course for you!

Dates tbc. in New Year.
Drawn Thread work. Series of classes with expert hand embroiderer Barbara Wright. Learn all about this traditional, European-wide technique. Those of you who loved the Isobel Elliott exhibition will love this class.

Spring Programme of Monthly Saturdays:-

The Old Chapel is open on the 1st Saturday of every month from February until December (not April in 2012 – closed for Easter!)

There is a demonstration on each of these Saturday mornings – so come and have a ‘Me Morning’ - only £2.00 for a chatty morning including coffee or tea. Come on your own or bring a friend. Note these dates in your diary for a morning off at The Old Chapel.

Saturday 4th February
Winter Warmers morning
 10am – 1pm 
Using Cuddly appliqué fleece for blankets, Hot Water bottle covers, and no-sew Hats! – demonstrations 10.30am and 11.30am
£2.00 includes coffee/tea

Saturday 3rd March
Spring Flowers morning 10am – 1pm  Celebration of Spring! 
Making a felt flower – demonstration 10.30am
Arranging fresh Spring Flowers – demonstration. 11.30am      £2.00 includes coffee/tea

1st Saturday in the Month 7th April = closed for Easter

1st Saturday in the Month 5th May
Open Studios launch day. Come and see our Community Art project. Free

1st Saturday in the Month 2nd June 10am – 1pm
Coronation Day! Come and take part in our Diamond Jubilee picture. 
Also, ‘Using Bondaweb’ – demonstration. 10.30am            £2.00 includes coffee/tea
