‘Keeping it Hot!’

We are delighted to report that the prizewinners in our recent Tea Cosy competition are as follows:

Prize for the Best Traditional Cosy - Val Chamberlaine. Berkshire
Prize for the Best Contemporary Cosy - Sue Robinson. Buckinghamshire
Prize for Judges Choice - Alice Summers. Devon
Prize for Visitors Choice at Newbury Exhibition - June Hurst. Surrey

We are very grateful to WILLIAMSON’S TEAS OF NEWBURY for donating the lovely wooden tea caddies and tea as prizes for this competition.

A selection of the cosies will be on show at ICHF Ltd sewing shows during the Autumn 2010 and Spring 2011. Some of the cosies will be on sale so make a point of visiting our stand at the shows at Exeter September 2010, Brighton February 2011, Glasgow March 2011, NEC March 2011 and Liverpool May 2011.


13th – 31st July

Hats and Bonnets

From the 13th July for just three weeks we will be displaying a feast of wonderful hats and bonnets for your delight. Big hats, Tiny Miniature hats, Hats you’d love to wear, Barge bonnets, and 50 of the lovely ‘Roses from the Heart’ project hand embroidered bonnets commemorating convict women sent to Australia. 

Open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday 13th July – Saturday 31st July

WORKSHOP – Saturday 31st July 10am – 1pm £15

Come and make your own fascinator under the eye of trained milliner Jean Hutchings. Just bring your sewing kit with black and white thread together with any trimmings you may wish to incorporate. Supplies will be available for you to buy on the day. Phone 01635 38740 to enrol.

Please note that due to heating being installed at The Old Chapel,The Country Wife will not be available for viewing and there will be no exhibition between 2ND and 7TH AUGUST 2010.
From 10TH and 14TH AUGUST the Country Wife and exhibition will be open but there may be some minor disruption to our other facilities. 
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
