Stitches---Pippa-unveiling

The Poetry in Stitches exhibition at Colchester General Hospital was sponsored by the Colchester League of Hospital and Community Friends. League member Pippa Hardy wrote the poem 'Rainbow' which was interpreted as a textile picture by Lorna Morrison. Pippa is shown with the Mayor of Colchester, Cllr Ray Gamble, at the opening of the exhibition and unveiling of the 'Rainbow' picture. The exhibition is on display until February 29th 2008.

WI-exhib1

"The Textile Treasures of the WI" exhibition that has just finished its national tour was an enormous success. Thousands of people were amazed at the skill and variety of items on display. Some of the items dated back to the beginning of the WI movement in 1915 and the importance of textiles in relation to economic and cultural life in Britain was shown in various contexts. The book which accompanied the exhibition and which includes all the items on display, as well as much more information about the history of the WI and their textiles, is available from the NNA. Click here for details

New – as well as all our other show stands this season, the NNA will have a stand at the new ICHF show at the Creative Stitches Show at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool, 25th – 27th April 2008. Come along and meet us and find out more about the work of the NNA.
